Childhood and Early Life

Actor Matthew Settle was born Jeffrey Matthew Settle on the 17 September 1969 in Hickory, North Carolina to Robert and Joan Settle. He has five siblings, three brothers, and two sisters. His father is a Baptist minister and his mother a musician.

Career

Matthew Settle has appeared in Shaughnessy (1996), What Happened to Bobby Earl? (1997), I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998), The In Crowd (2000), Band of Brothers (2001). The Mystery of Natalie Wood (2004), Into the West (2005) and Gossip Girl (2007-2012). He made his Broadway debut in Chicago as Billy Flynn Chicago (2010). Recent work includes Valentine (2017), television series Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders (2016) De Los Inocentes (2016) and The Fath of Anna Waters (2016).

Awards and Achievements

Into the West (2005) won the Western Heritage Bronze Wrangler award which was shared with the cast and crew including producer Steven Spielberg. Settle was nominated for two Teen Choice Awards, in 2009: Choice TV Parental Unit for Gossip Girl (2007) and 1999 Choice Sleazebag for I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998).

Personal Life

Matthew Settle was married to Naama Nativ (m.2006 - div-2011). The couple shares a daughter, Aven Angelica (b.2009). In 2015 Settle and his partner Marie Alfonsin had their first child, a daughter, Nalu.
