Why Do We Get Stretch Marks?
Stretch marks resemble scars. They are usually red, pink or purple colored. They fade into a color paler than skin, white or gray.
The reason of stretch marks, as the name states, is the stretch of the skin. The sudden change in the body leaves less time for the skin to produce more collagen and elastin fiber. Collagen makes 75% of skin and elastin fibers provides elasticity to the skin. Deficiency in any of these proteins leads to skin problems and sketch marks is one of them.
Stretch marks usually fade with time and become less noticeable. However, they never completely vanish. People who are desperate to make their skin flawless or their stretch marks don’t fade; they opt for laser therapy or a treatment known as Microdermabrasion.
