9 Foods Every Man Should Eat

#1. Spinach

Spinach, that all mighty vegetable, tops our list of foods for any man’s diet. Popeye really knew what he was talking about. Spinach is full of fibre, which is an essential part of any vegetarian diet, as well as calcium and beta-carotene.

Calcium is important for strong bones and joints, while beta-carotene helps promote a strong immune system, healthy eyes and hair. A power food if ever there was one, spinach can be eaten either raw in a salad, or cooked into a meal.

#2. Turkey

Turkey, and poultry in general, is an excellent lean meat for any man. It is full of protein which helps build strong muscles, and is lower in fat than many other meats.

Turkey in your diet is especially good for men as it contains a lot of zinc, which helps increase sperm production. Turkey also contains vitamin B, including the essential nutrient vitamin B12. It is a healthy, delicious and versatile meat you can easily work into your diet.

Quinoa may not seem like a likely choice, but this little grain is actual an amazing food for anyone’s diet. Grains are very important to your diet, but not always as appealing.

Quinoa provides an excellent alternative as it can be cooked into a rice-like dish. Quinoa is also high in protein – at least for a grain, provides much needed fiber to the diet, and promotes good heart health.


#4. Black Beans

These little legumes pack a punch. They are a great alternative to red meat, as they are full of protein, and generally provide a filling, wholesome meal. They can help you feel energized and provide enough fuel for your body due to their make up of complex carbohydrates. Black beans are also very high in fiber.

#5. Almonds

Almonds are one of the healthiest nuts around. Filling and satisfying, they provide energy  and muscle building materials due to their high levels of protein.

Almonds are also a great source of calcium, as well as in lesser forms various minerals and nutrients. Almonds are great as a quick easy healthy snack, or can be add to a meal such as toppings for a salad.

#6. Eggs

Eggs are one of nature’s greatest health foods. They are rich in protein and good fats, meaning they provide a satisfying meal, while fueling the body with the nutrients it needs.

Eggs in your diet also contain the all important vitamin B12, an essential vitamin which the body needs to function, but which cannot be produced within humans. It is found exclusively in other animals or animal products (such as eggs and milk).


#7. Yoghurt

Yoghurt, too, is an excellent source of calcium. Yoghurt is similar to milk in it’s benefits, but is also full of pro-biotic bacteria cultures, which although sound gross, are actually very good for you. These good bacteria strengthen the body and help fight off viruses, infections, and other bad bacteria you may pick up.

Yoghurt also helps with your digestion and the burning of fat. It is a great filling food that doesn’t pack on the pounds. Try and steer clear of particularly sugary yoghurt, though, as too much sugar is not good for the body.

#8. Blueberries

Blueberries are a super fruit. Per ounce, they hold more vitamins, minerals and fibre than any other fruit. Blueberries help to keep your immune system strong and healthy with vitamin C, fighting infection and sickness. These tiny berries are also very important because they are high in anti-oxidants, meaning they promote healthy cells and overall health, both mentally and physically.


#9. Green Tea

Green tea – whether it is consumed hot or cold – is a powerful drink in that it helps fight off virtually all infections or attacks on the body. It can help burn fat and help you lose weight as it speeds up your metabolism, and it also helps with overall digestion. Green tea has even been suggested to help prevent the onset of illnesses.
