#1. Red Meat

Iron is important as it transports oxygen in your blood stream, and carries it throughout the body. This keeps muscles, tissues and cells healthy and functioning to their very best.

Women especially tend to need the benefits of milk, more than men. The calcium and vitamin D are vital in maintaining healthy strong bones and joints, and preventing osteoporosis.

This weakened bone syndrome tends to be more common in women. Additionally, breastfeeding mothers should ensure they gain enough vitamin D and calcium in their diet, and one of the easiest ways to do that is through milk.

Salmon is a great source of protein, and a very healthy alternative to other meats. Leaner, less fatty and full of health benefits, salmon is an important food to add to any woman’s diet.

Almonds, and all nuts in general are an excellent way to add some nutrition to the diet. Almonds contain more calcium than any other nut, are therefore a great way to add calcium to the diet. They are also high in protein, and a great easy filling option.
