Warm up a cup of water. Do not heat it more than you could gargle with. Stir in half a teaspoon of salt. Gargle with this solution several times a day.

When your voice is hoarse, speaking can aggravate the hoarseness. Your voice box needs rest in order to respond back to your body’s immune system. Speaking will put unnecessary strain on it and lengthen the time of its healing.
