8 Home Remedies For Rotated Cuspid

Unfortunately, rotated cuspids can’t be ‘cured’ at home. This problem needs to be treated by a dentist and can often result in getting a tooth pulled or the patient getting braces.

However, this article can give you some home remedies on how to easily reduce the pain around the area without the use of medicine. These natural remedies can also be used to fix general tooth pain and rotated cuspid pain.

#1. Toothpaste

The kind of toothpaste that you use can help to determine how much your teeth can hurt. While you have a rotated cuspid you should try to switch to a sensitive toothpaste as a home remedy. Use this at least twice a day. Also, keep flossing, even if you have to do it gently to avoid pain. If you do not keep up on your dental hygiene, then it will only make the situation worse.

#2. Massage

Massaging the gums around your rotated cuspid can help to relieve some pain. Make sure that your hands are clean before you do this. Rub your finger in small circles around your tooth. Do this for five minutes. Switch the direction in which you make the circles. This natural home remedy should be able to temporarily reduce pain.

#3. Cold Compress

Applying cold compress to an area is a great way to numb it, even when the pain is inside of your mouth. However, you shouldn’t put the ice in your mouth to do this. Simply holding the ice on the outside of your mouth where the tooth is can help to numb the gums around it. If you would rather put something in your mouth, then you can soak a cloth in cold water and then hold that directly to your gum pain.

#4. Clove Oil

Clove oil is a handy little natural remedy that can help to reduce tooth pain naturally. All you have to do is dip a cotton ball or Q-tip in the oil and rub it or hold it on the gums around your rotated cuspid. Use this for about five minutes at a time to feel teeth pain relief.

#5. Salt Water

Using salt water is a great way to relieve pain anywhere in your mouth, including a rotated cuspid. Get a glass of warm water and mix in a tablespoon of salt. Mix the salt into the water thoroughly. Once you do this, take a sip of the water and gargle it for thirty seconds and then spit it out. Repeat this until all of the water in your cup is gone. Once gone, you may want to drink a glass of cold, salt-free, water.

#6. Ginger

Using ginger is one of the best natural remedies to reduce itching and inflammation that may be bothering your rotated cuspid. You can add more ginger to your meals while you are dealing with the pain, or you can drink ginger tea when your tooth hurts. Either option should be able to decrease your pain.

#7. Peppermint

Peppermint tea and gum may be able to help with your tooth pain as well. Peppermint tea can minorly numb your gums without hurting you. Drink a cup of warm peppermint tea when you are in pain. Also, chewing sugar-free peppermint gum, or sucking on sugar-free peppermint hard candies may also be able to help. If you are chewing gum, chew it on the side opposite to your rotated cuspid.

#8. Foods to Avoid

There are some foods that you should try to avoid until you get your rotated cuspid fixed. Firstly, try to avoid drinking caffeinated or alcoholic beverages. Also, try to stay away from greasy and fast food in general. Chewy candy or other sticky foods are also good to avoid. Try to stick to a healthy diet and minimize the amount of sugary and acidic foods that you eat.

Hopefully these tips can help with your rotated cuspid.
