10 Top Home Remedies For Dysuria

Dysuria is more or less a fancy term for ‘it hurts when I urinate’.

Dysuria can be caused by an array of urinary tract infection and bladder issues.

This article is here to discuss some home remedies that can help to get rid of dysuria and the bacteria that usually causes a painful or burning sensation while urinating.

#1. Quit Smoking

If you commonly experience pain while urinating and if you also smoke, then the two are probably connected. Smoking and using other nicotine products can irritate your urinary tract and make it painful to use the toilet. Along with hurting your urinary tract, smoking damages many other parts of your body as well. Smoking really has no upside, only many downsides. Try to quit as soon as possible.

#2. Stay Hydrated

Although it may seem silly to keep drinking water while is already hurts to urinate with the little water that you already drink, drinking more water is an excellent home remedy for dysuria. Without knowing it, you may be slightly dehydrated. You could also have other problems with dehydration that is causing it to be painful when you urinate. A healthy person should drink at least six glasses of water a day, even when it hurts to urinate.

#3. Cranberry Juice

Drinking cranberry juice or taking cranberry supplements is an important natural remedy for curing dysuria. Cranberries contain a natural chemical that can help to clear away bacteria that is stuck to the walls of the bladder. Once the bacteria is gone, it makes it much easier and pain-free to use the toilet. To start off, try to drink a glass of cranberry juice a day.

#4. Orange Juice

Orange juice is rather acidic and it also has a lot of vitamin C; both of these things are great at flushing out bacteria in the bladder that might be making it painful to urinate. To start off, try to drink at least one glass of orange juice a day. If you would rather, lemonade, limeade, and pineapple juice all make good natural remedies.

#5. Yogurt

There is good bacteria and bad bacteria. The bacteria attacking your bladder or urinary tract are obviously very bad for you. Yogurt, however, is full of good bacteria that can help to fight off the bad bacteria, and all you have to do is eat it. While plain yogurt will work the best, any yogurt should be able to help. Try eating at least one cup of yogurt a day. You can even continue this once it becomes comfortable to urinate again, as yogurt is generally a healthy food.

#6. Baking Soda

Baking soda can decrease the amount of burning that you feel while urinating. For a quick fix, try drinking a glass of water with a half tablespoon of baking soda thoroughly mixed in. If you constantly feel burning, then you may want to add this to your daily routine.

#7. Avoid Caffeine & Alcohol

If you have some sort of irritation in your urinary tract or in your bladder, then drinking beverages containing caffeine and alcohol will only irritate your urinary tract or bladder even more. It is best to cut these sorts of beverages out of your diet completely until it is comfortable to urinate again. Also, drinking too many caffeinated beverages can cause kidney stones, which would put you in an extreme amount of pain when you had to urinate them out.

#8. Avoid Sugar

Taking in too much sugar can make it harder for your body to heal when you have urinary tract or bladder problems. It is best to stay away from processed, fast, and junk foods until you feel comfortable urinating again. When you are thirsty, try to stick with flavored water instead of juices or sodas. This will make the healing process much faster than it would with a lot of sugar in your diet.

#9. Diet

Some foods that you can add to your diet to help are things like fiber rich food, carbohydrates, and healthy fatty oils. Keep these types of food in mind. Also, try to get in a decent amount of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean meats. A healthy diet means a healthy body, and less pain while urinating.

#10. Urinate

Even though it hurts to urinate, you should urinate frequently as possible. Holding in your urine will only make it hurt more when you do let it out. Also, every time you use the toilet, you are getting rid of more and more of the bacteria that is causing you pain. Therefore, it should hurt less every time you go to the bathroom.

Hopefully these natural home remedies can help you out with your dysuria.
